The Clothes Closet [03 Dec 2004|08:28pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

((OOC: Moved from here.))

Kerry watched Sammy leave, feeling bad for not answering him. The fact that he seemed to like Willow threw him off... Then again, maybe he was just being the protective older brother. He sighed and leaned back against a wall. He was never going to find anything.

Why did he want to look good anyway? "Patsy." He covered his mouth. No. Not for Patsy. For the wedding. Right?

Wedding Prep.... [01 Nov 2004|10:19pm]
[ mood | thoughtful ]

Kerry left the cafe and went to his room, plopping back onto his bed. He'd kissed Patsy in front of everyone.... and there was a murderer on the loose. He covered his face with his hands. There was too much going on here at once. He had to protect his brothers and sisters from a murderer, he had to get ready for a marriage that seemed to be taking forever to happen, there was a "dead" girl on the loose.... and he was falling in love. None of that fit together. At all.

He grabbed his pillow and yelled into it, trying to release stress. He forced himself up to get ready for the wedding, digging for clothes.

On His Bed... [09 Jul 2004|12:32pm]
[ mood | cranky ]

Kerry left the cafe and walked into his room. Macy wasn't in his. Of course it was empty. Macy was probably out with Ryan or trying to get some girls to look at him. He fell face-down onto the bed, letting his arms flop down.

Girls, that was the one subject in his life that Kerry hadn't passed. What was with girls, anyway? He'd practically lived with one all his life and now there were more, so why couldn't he get it together? Macy was right. The girls WERE looking at Kerry, but why couldn't he look back without choking or blushing or turning away? And this Gel girl was throwing signals at him when they'd first met. Why didn't he respond?

...Patsy... That was really the only girl who had ever REALLY sparked his interest in his entire life. She didn't seem like other girls, as cliche as that sounded. He shook his head and rolled onto his back. She didn't like him like that. She wouldn't like him like that. God, it was so much easier when it was just him, the kids, and Ryan. He didn't have time to think about things like this because he was too busy taking care of everyone. But he needed to start looking out for himself, Anna would tell him. Maybe he should start now.

In Kerry's new room [08 May 2004|03:50am]
[ mood | worried ]

Kerry set his backpack at the end of his bed, and looked around at his new room. A bed, a table and chair and a small trunk next to the bed. He liked it plain, and was sure Ryan must have taken the same time with the detail in the other kids rooms, yet leaving them just plain enough for them to decorate as they wished later. Rooms of their own. He had never thought that they'd each have a room to themselves. He felt a strange mixture of worry and relief. To have his own room. He sat slowly down on the bed. The whole impact of where he was hitting him. And what changes it would make in his life and those of the others. How different would life at the Mall be to that of the House in the woods? Perhaps it would resemble the time when there had been 25 kids at the little house instead of just six. Busy. Yet, for all the names Salene had listed off before, he'd seen only a few people. At the house you couldn't have missed the entire Tribe except for those out foraging in the woods. The woods. There were no trees here in the city. No big space behind the house in which to play chase, or rugby...did they have a place to play games like that in the city?

He felt badly about walking away from those downstairs without really greeting them properly. The little girl who looked so unhappy, and the toddler who looked so happy. Had he said a real 'hello' to Salene even? Or Patsy? Salene said she was like a daughter to her. Everything had happened so fast. He wondered how the others were coping. He supposed he had to stop hiding in his room and go and look.
